This specially-designed course has been adapted from the Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course to meet the needs of people who work within a school setting. It covers the basic essentials required to provide emergency care if you’re a first aider in a school.

  • Acting safely and effectively during an accident or emergency
  • Treatment and priorities when caring for an unconscious patient
  • Recognising and treating a seizure
  • Recognising cardiac arrest and performing CPR
  • Choking in adults and children
  • Bleeding
  • Asthma
  • Allergic reaction
  • Recording accidents at work
  • Optional add-on - Anaphylaxis Awareness module

Aims

  • Understand the role of a first aider
  • Gain skills and knowledge to deal with emergencies involving a child
