COVID-Secure training continues at Browns Health & Safety

The safety of our staff and visitors is out top priority, so we're committed to ensuring we're a COVID-Secure training environment after government restrictions are lifted.

As legal restrictions on course numbers and social distancing have been removed we want to allow more people to train with us while continuing to offer a safe environment.

  • We're increasing course numbers from 6 to 8. This will mean we can offer more training dates, but will also allow for distancing in our training room.
  • Government guidance is for people to continue to wear face coverings when in crowded spaces. As we can't ensure distancing in circulation spaces of the office we ask that visitors and staff wear face a covering while moving around the building. This will help to keep others safe, but we understand if you're unable to cover your mouth and nose.
  • When you visit us we will ask you to sign our COVID-19 questionnaire so we can keep details for 21 days for Test and Trace. We also use the document in case of a fire so we know who is in the building.
  • We'll continue to provide extra cleaning throughout the day so frequently-touched surfaces are regularly cleaned.
  • Ventilation is the best way to reduce the spread of COVID-19, so we'll continue to keep windows and doors open throughout the building.

Take a look at our  COVID-19 training procedures.

Our consultants will continue to work from home where appropriate and wear face coverings when completing audits. We'll also continue to provide hand sanitiser for visits so you can be confident that we're taking as many precautions as possible.

Covid-19 Update: Visiting us

All of our courses are currently running as planned, and extra measures are being taken to reduce the risk of the spread of Coronavirus. We would like to reassure all visitors that should you visit us, there will be no more than 20 people at our offices, including trainers, delegates and office-based staff.

The health and safety of our delegates and employees is our top priority. Knowing that you may have concerns about visiting us at this time, we want to reassure you that we are doing all that we can to keep everyone safe.

As part of our Covid-19 Policy to keep our staff and visitors safe, we are asking anyone visiting us to complete a short questionnaire before visiting us.

As well as continuing with our normal cleaning and hygiene procedures, we are working to ensure you and our staff are protected from the risk of infections by:

  • Increasing how often we disinfect surfaces throughout our offices
  • Providing hand sanitiser to staff and visitors
  • Encouraging visitors to wash their hands regularly throughout the day
  • Taking the temperature of all staff and visitors to our office on arrival
  • Ensuring our staff follow public health guidance on self-isolation if developing symptoms associated with Covid 19.

Should Government and public health guidance change, resulting in the need for any of our courses, visits or treatments be cancelled we will contact anyone impacted as soon as possible.

Training & Reflexology postponed: Our COVID-19 response

Ensuring the health and safety of our staff and everyone we work with is the most important part of our work. Following government guidelines on non-essential travel and social distancing to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, we have taken the decision to postpone all our training courses and reflexology treatments.

Although we know this may cause inconvenience, we hope you understand our need to keep everyone safe and well while the country works to reduce the spread of infection.

We will continue to support businesses with their health and safety needs as our consultants will work from home to provide advice and guidance. We will let you know as soon as we are able to resume training.

  • People who were due to sit a refresher course for first aid of a quarry passport should note that the HSE and SPA MPQC have agreed to a three-month grace period at this time for renewal training.

We would like to thank everyone for their support and hope to be able to welcome you all back into our offices for training and reflexology soon.

MHFA England Adult Mental Health First Aid in Lutterworth

We are pleased to add this incredible new course to our range of open courses in Lutterworth.  This 2 day Adult Mental Health First Aid course is provided by MHFA England.

We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect people from all walks of life.

Although things are improving, stigma still exists around mental ill health. As a society, we don't tend to know how to take care of our mental health like we do our physical health. This means that people may not know how to support a friend, family member or colleague experiencing a mental health issue, or where to go for support with their own mental health.

At Browns, we acknowledge that historically the focus of health and safety in the workplace has tended to be towards safety.  Fortunately, we are now recognising the importance of health and wellbeing.  This course is just one of the latest additions to our services to further expand wellbeing support to both our regular clients and the public.

MHFA England Adult Mental Health First Aid 2 day courses have been scheduled throughout the year at our training centre in Lutterworth.  The next available course is on 9 & 10 May.
