Well done Karen - Race for Life

We would like to congratulate Karen on her amazing achievement in completing the Race for Life on Sunday 10th July. As a result of Karen's efforts and hard work in preparing for the event, she has raised a very substantial amount of money in aid of Cancer Research UK, an extremely worthy cause. Karen, we are very proud of you!

Karen is pictured below with her daughter Kelly, shortly after they both finished the run together.

Well done Karen and Kelly!

Love in a Box' 2015 target smashed for our final year!

Six years ago we set up a collection point at our offices for donations to the Love in a Box appeal on behalf of Mustard Seed (registered charity no. 1129396). Each year, with the generous donations from the local community we have filled Christmas shoeboxes with gifts and essential items for children in orphanages, hospitals and refugee camps across Eastern Europe.

Sadly, this year had to be the final year we could host and organise the collection point and we set ourselves a target of 500 boxes, more than any of the previous years. Thanks to the overwhelming support we have received, we are delighted to report that this year we have been able to hand over to the charity an incredible 536 filled boxes!

A massive thank you goes out to all those who have taken part in the appeal over the past 6 years. In total, together we have brightened up the Christmases of 1740 children, who would otherwise have received very little. Joining us in our final appeal photos are volunteers Olive Perkins and Margaret Lee who once again have been working throughout the year to ensure that everything came together in time. This incredible result couldn’t have been achieved without them.

Love in a Box 2013

Amazing Support!

We are delighted to report that with the continued generosity and kindness of our supporters and helpers, in 2013 we donated an amazing 296 Christmas gift boxes to the Love in a Box appeal organised by Mustard Seed (registered charity no. 1129396).

The team at Browns and our faithful volunteers have set a target of 400 boxes for 2014! The boxes are transported by Mustard Seed to orphanages in Eastern Europe, to children who would otherwise receive very little at Christmas. The boxes are filled with gifts, small toys and also essential items such as soap, toothbrushes & toothpaste, warm hats, gloves & scarves.

If you would like to know how you can help or contribute to the appeal, please contact us or visit the charity's website www.msrm.org.uk

A huge thank you from all the team at Browns to everyone who helped or donated in 2013 and put huge smiles on 296 tiny faces.

Love in a Box 2012

We would like to issue a huge thank you everyone who contributed to our Love in a Box appeal on behalf of Mustard Seed (registered charity no. 1129396). For the past 3 years we have co-ordinated a collection point at our offices for donations and filled Christmas shoe-boxes for children in orphanages, hospitals and refugee camps across Eastern Europe.

Each year we have been touched by the generosity of donations and this year has surpassed our expectations once more.

In November we handed over an incredible 185 wrapped and filled boxes to the charity; an achievement which would have been impossible without the help and support from our friends at the Lutterworth Knit and Stitch group, Chris Ingham and the team at the Leukaemia Research charity shop, the Lutterworth and District Journal and the generosity of the local community.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed, ensuring 185 little faces will be wearing 185 beaming smiles this Christmas!

Mustard Seed Relief. Last Years total smashed!

Following last years charity appeal for the Mustard Seed Relief Mission, we again started to collect and fill shoe boxes for our "love in a box" appeal.

We managed to fill a whopping 120 boxes beating last years total of 104.

We could not have done it without the support of the local knit and stitch club in Lutterworth, which meant every single box had a warm hat in it, many had knitted toys, handbags, purses and headbands. Local residents popped into our offices laddened with filled boxes, suppliers donated money to help the boxes on their way, local charities assisted us with donations and shoe shops donated the boxes.

A big thank you to all of you who made our campaign this year such a success.

Wish we could see the 120 smiling faces on Christmas morning.

Here's to our 2012 appeal!
