Train the Trainer Manual Handling
The course covers the latest key issues and priorities in manual handling including:-
- Manual Handling Risk Assessment
- Manual handling related injuries including musculoskeletal disorders and work related upper limb disorders
- In addition we will explore modern trainer training techniques:
- Delivering effective training
- Dealing with difficult delegates
- At the conclusion of day two, delegates working in groups will be required to design and deliver a micro training session on safe manual handling. This will enable them to practice their new skills and knowledge with expert feedback from our trainer before returning to the workplace.
- Health and Safety Legislation – with a focus on the Manual Handling Operations Regulations
- How to identify and control risks from Manual Handling
- Safe manual handling techniques – using the kinetic approach
- Delegates will be guided through the Health and Safety Executive’s guidance on manual handling as contained in L23 – Guidance on the Manual Handling Operations Regulations.
- Planning and preparing to train, including the writing of trainers plans
- Different Learning Styles using the Honey and Mumford approach
- Providing feedback and assessment
