The safety of our staff and visitors remains our top priority, to remain a COVID-Secure workplace that you can feel safe in, we have introduced new measures to ensure we are doing everything possible to facilitate this.

How we are protecting delegates coming to Browns
When you arrive in the car park, we ask you to stay in your vehicle until invited in to the training centre, this will enable us to maintain social distancing in the reception area. On arrival all delegates will be asked to complete the questionnaire; The trainer will be vigilant to any delegates exhibiting signs of respiratory infection, anyone showing signs will be asked to go home. All delegates will be asked to sanitise their hands as soon as they arrive, before making refreshments and at appropriate times during the training.

Procedures to protect delegates and trainers
On arrival all learners will be given clear instructions in following government advice on social distancing and hand washing. This simple and easy-to-follow advice is clinically proven and very effective, adherence will be monitored by the trainer throughout the course. Frequent hand washing and use of the alcohol wipes/hand sanitizer gel available will be required throughout the day.

If pens are required, you will be issued with a pen, this is yours to use and take away at the end of the course.

We are limiting the number of delegates on our courses to five, so that tables can be arranged to enable us to keep 2m apart.

All internal doors will be left open, except for the toilet doors. We will be carrying out sanitising of the toilets, door handles and handrails at regular intervals throughout the day. Where appropriate windows will be opened for added ventilation.

We will not be providing lunch and so we ask all delegates bring in their own lunch in a cool bag. We will be providing tea and coffee making facilities, ask people just to make their own drink and ensure there is only one person at a time in the refreshment area. Sanitiser is available in the area and we ask you to use it prior to making your drink. We ask that you leave all dirty cups on your table and not in the refreshment area. We will be taking away our grazing station but will provide individual wrapped packets of biscuits.

First Aid Training at Browns Health and Safety during the current pandemic
To enable us to deliver the required content of the practical element needs to be completed, this cannot be done with 2m social distancing, however the following procedures will be put in place.

  • Each delegate will have their own manikin which only they will use.
  • Each manikin will have fresh lungs each day.
  • Face shields and hygiene wipes will be provided.
  • Where bandaging exercises require delegates to be in closer proximity with each other, gloves and face masks will be provided

What if I start to feel unwell while attending a course?
If someone develops COVID-19 symptoms while on a course, we will ask you to self-isolate and inform other delegates. All delegates will be asked at the end of their course to tell us if they develop symptoms so our reporting measures will allow us to identify anyone on the same course to inform them.
