Drivers: Changes to Penalties for handheld mobile phone use01st March 2017 | Legislation

As publicised on the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency website, from 1 March 2017, the penalties for using a hand-held mobile phone while driving will increase to 6 points on your licence and a £200 fine.

A campaign has been launched by ‘THINK!’ to encourage drivers to put phones in the glove compartment while driving to avoid temptation. You can find out more about the campaign by visiting THINK!’s website.
